For Dr. Bradley Kurtz, a bit of nostalgia surrounds Advanced Pediatric Associates’ most recent expansion. As he looks forward to seeing patients at the practice’s newest office in Denver’s Stapleton community, he will be carrying on tradition and going home.

“I’m excited to bring the staff’s special quality of care and unique customer service to the neighborhood where I grew up, just steps from Stapleton’s landing strips, and where I now live, just minutes from the new office,” says Dr. Kurtz, referring to APA’s fourth office to open since his father founded the practice in 1972. The continued expansion is a testament to APA’s 41 years of excellence in fulfilling its mission of providing the most advanced pediatric medicine in a family friendly setting, Dr. Kurtz says.

Big enough to meet your needs, small enough to show we careAdvanced Pediatric Associates

With offices in Aurora, Parker, Centennial and, soon, Stapleton, APA offers convenience and access to exceptional medical care to a growing and diverse community. “It shows that we are doing things right,” says Dr. Jill Kramer. “The provider’s commitment to stay up to date on all the latest medical practices and recommendations is impressive, and our support staff is outstanding.”

Longtime close relationships with the University of Colorado Hospital and Children’s Hospital Colorado aid APA physicians in their efforts to remain at the top of their field, resulting in state of the art education from first class pediatric specialists and professors. “We are able to collaborate with them and learn about the latest advances in medicine,” says Dr. Stephanie Stevens. “I think our patients recognize this commitment and expertise.”

Of course, APA couldn’t continue its growth without its most committed relationship — to its patient families. Offering a warm, caring atmosphere where families feel at home remains a staff priority. And providing a medical home, where families build a long term relationship with their primary care providers, and where they can turn for expertise and guidance to coordinate any necessary specialist care, remains a top goal.

““APA has grown on the foundation of providing the highest-quality, friendly, and innovative pediatric care,” Dr. Kurtz says. “Our multiple locations allow us to offer a wider variety of services and a more diverse and experienced clinical and administrative staff. We will strive to continue that trend.”

What makes your office unique?

Some of the families coming to this office have been with APA for several generations. This office also has many Spanish-speaking families, and I enjoy being able to use my Spanish language skills to care for patients.

What makes your job rewarding?

Helping our diverse and growing patient base of APA families, especially when a family says: “I trust you. Tell me what to do to help my child.”

It’s like a close family. We love working together. Also, within our building, we have two radiology departments, three laboratories, a pharmacy, and the Children’s Hospital ER, so patients don’t have to drive anywhere to reach these services. It’s very convenient.

It’s not one thing; it’s everything about APA. We’re like one big family always supporting each other.

Why do families return to Advanced Pediatrics?

Continuity of Care

With the electronic medical records system, we have every patient’s information at our fingertips. This allows us to easily communicate with each other and with specialists. We are the medical home for our patients. By developing continuity of care with patients, we know them and they know us, making it easier to provide them with personalized care. – Dr. Kramer

Caring Staff

Our reception staff is always welcoming and goes the extra mile to help families find follow-up appointments that fit their busy schedules. Our medical assistants also have great relationships with our patient families and are eager to make a child’s visit as pleasant as possible. – Dr. Chen-Becker

Clinical Care

As physicians at APA, we take our continuing education seriously. Many of us often spend extra hours outside of work completing education courses. We often share that knowledge over lunch discussions with our other providers, giving everyone access to the most recent recommendations in care. – Dr. Chen Becker

Communication

The world is changing and advancement in electronic communication is moving rapidly. We want to reach our patients in ways that are convenient and important to them, such as our website with online services and Facebook. Our new EMR will allow for seamless coordination of care between all of our offices, as well as with many labs, pharmacies and specialists. Over the coming year, APA expects to launch a new patient portal providing patients even more online access to medical records and communication. – Dr. Stevens
